About Festival Hall

What is Festival Hall?

Festival Hall is the new home of the Calgary Folk Music Festival offices and an intimate performance space seating approximately 200.

How the CFMF will use Festival Hall

We are very excited to present the diverse indie, roots, traditional and world music the festival is known for all year round. Festival Hall will also be the home for curated series of new events hosted by the CFMF, including workshops, lectures, and master classes. Our 1600+ volunteer army will use the Hall as a meeting space as well, while the annual festival will remain on Prince's Island Park.

How you can use Festival Hall

Festival Hall is available to be rented as an affordable performance space for Calgary's artistic community, and is also available for corporate and private functions.

What’s inside Festival Hall?

The main performance hall is an architecturally developed room treated by acousticians. Patrons enter through the welcoming Gray's Lobby that includes Lisa Brawn's public art installation of original woodcuts inspired by the nearby Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, our donor recognition Drink Rail, and the Big Rock Emerson Bar. The Hall technical requirements are largely met on the French's Catwalk, which includes light and multimedia fixtures that can be adapted to a wide range of needs and presentations. Artists and performers appreciate the Muruva Green Room downstairs, which includes full amenities.

Where is Festival Hall?

Festival Hall is located at 1215 10th Ave SE. We are happy to have made a permanent home in Inglewood, an area rich in culture and history, and, in our estimation, a growing musical destination for Calgarians.

Is it a bar or a restaurant?

The Hall is primarily a curated music and arts centre. We are licensed for alchohol during events only, and will serve snacks and can accommodate limited catering. We encourage you to enjoy all of the amazing restaurants in Inglewood for pre and post-show meals. Festival Hall shows are all-ages.

How can I rent the Hall & how much does it cost?

The CFMF are currently developing our rental plans and rates for both non-profit and corporate groups. We will begin accepting rental inquiries in September of 2013.
